The Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oguntola Jelil Alamu, represented by the Provost, Postgraduate School, Prof. Olayiwola O. Oladele, congratulated the matriculating students for being among the lucky few ones who scaled through the various selection processes and urged them to work hard as students of the University, “We are urging you all to obey the rules and regulations of the institutions as the University authority has zero tolerance for any nefarious act and may apply sanctions against offenders”, he stated.
Prof. Oguntola averred that the goal of UNIOSUN Postgraduate Programmes was not just to become a reference point for academic excellence, but to produce research for development through quality teaching and research efforts. He admonished the new postgraduate students to set the standards and pace for academic excellence, innovations, research and community development, and also build the foundation of strong Alumni of the postgraduate school.
Speaking to the UNIOSUN News & Notes (UNN) after the ceremony, Prof. Oladele, Provost, Postgraduate school, noted that UNIOSUN has full accreditation of all programmes offered and the University has continued to maintain uninterrupted academic calendar. Noting that the University has zero tolerance for all acts of misconduct within and outside its campuses, he enjoined the matriculating students to familiarize themselves with the Code of Conduct for Students and other existing Rules and Regulations of the Institution.
Some of the matriculating students, who spoke to the UNIOSUN News and Notes (UNN) thanked God for the opportunity given to them to study at the institution and promised to be law abiding.
