The workshop was a mandatory continuing professional education for prospective corporate members of the Society.
Prof. Alamu advised members of the Society to always be strong adherent of the ethos and practice of the engineering profession. He stressed that there are legal liabilities that could be incurred in the Profession if projects project implementation fails to take all necessary precautions. Therefore, he urged members to practice the profession with absolute care and seriousness, adding that a mistake made by a professional in the course of carrying out his professional duties could be very costly and disastrous for the society at large.
Delivering his address of welcome, the Chairman of the NSE, Osogbo Chapter, Engr. Adeniran Felix Ibitoye, thanked Osun State University and most especially the Acting Vice Chancellor, for the unflinching support the Society had enjoyed from the University. He specifically thanked the University for the unparalleled support which resulted in the approval of an Examination Centre for Osogbo Chapter by the National Executive Committee of the NSE, Abuja.
The NSE Chairman then disclosed that a Senior Lecturer from the University's Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. F.A. Oginni, FNSE has been appointed Pioneer Chief Examiner for the Centre. Engineer Ibitoye also implored the University to officially allow the inauguration of NSE-UNIOSUN Students Chapter before the end of his tenure in office which comes up within the next few months.
