The University's outstanding performance was highlighted in a statement released by its Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, on Monday, March 18, 2024.
According to excerpts from the statement, "At the Eagle Square in Abuja, between March 11th and March 15th, 2024, Abdullah Jimoh, a student of our Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, represented Osun State at the National Innovation and Technology Expo 2024 Competition. He secured the second position, bringing honor to the state."
Adesoji further elaborated, "Jimoh's journey to this achievement began in 2023 when he initiated a groundbreaking project titled 'Automated Chicken Feeder' under the guidance of our Center for Entrepreneurship Studies and Innovation. The Automated Chicken Feeder was showcased and demonstrated across various platforms in Osun State, including the Digital Nigeria Day at the Ministry of Innovation, the Osun State Trade Fair at Aje Market, and the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC)."
The competition, which attracted the brightest minds from across the nation to exhibit their innovative projects, garnered significant attention and recognition for UNIOSUN's innovative model, which can be controlled remotely.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, while reacting to the innovation, commended Abdullah Jimoh for his remarkable achievement in making UNIOSUN and Osun State proud. He reiterated the University's commitment to academic and vocational dexterity, creating a delicate blend of equilibrium for both. The Vice-Chancellor also urged students of the University to continue in this trend and aspire to be globally competitive in their respective fields, both academically and professionally.
