Biosketch:
Prof. ASEKUN-OLARINMOYE, Esther Olufunmilayo obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) Biology degree from Philippine Union College, Manila Philippines (1978); an MD degree (Doctor of Medicine) from Filemon Tanchoco Medical Foundation, Manila Central University, Manila, Philippines (1982), a Fellowship of West African College of Physicians, (FWACP) (1996) and an associate Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (1992). She joined Osun State University in 2010. She was Ag. HOD, Comm. Med. Dept (2010-11), Ag. Director of Quality Assurance (2011-13), Director of Research & Linkages (2015-2016), Chairman Ceremonials Committee (2015-19) and Provost, CHS (2016-2018). Her current research is on saving lives of mothers and babies at birth. She has successfully supervised 3 Ph.Ds and 22 Fellowships. She was appointed a full Professor in 2013. She has taught as a full-time academic staff at the University level for 21 years. She is currently a Professor of Sexual and Reproductive Health in the Department of Community Medicine, College of Health Sciences at Osun State University. She has contributed to filling the gap in knowledge on major children’s health issues and reproductive health issues among women and adolescents. She has authored more than 80 scientific research publications both locally and internationally.
