The training was organized by the National Instruments (NI) in conjunction with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. NI is an American multinational company with headquarters at Austin, Texas; a producer of automated test equipment and virtual instrumentation software. Common applications from NI include data acquisition, instrument control and machine vision.
The training exposed participants to the LabVIEW environment and its use as a simple simulation and control package with numerous applications in robotics and machine designs. At the end of the training, the facilitator and representative of the National Instruments, Mr. Andrew Watchorn presented MY DAQ (a comprehensive set of plug-and-play computer-based laboratory instrument with portability for hands-on student learning) to Osun State University, through the Department.
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering appreciates Prof. O. Osasona for creating the opportunity for our staff members to benefit from this enriching technical experience and for initiating such a rewarding collaboration between our Department and NI. We sincerely hope to strengthen this further and also appreciate NI for the free training and the kind donation.
