The team include the Provost, College of Management and Social Sciences, Professor Dayo Idowu Akintayo; Provost of Postgraduate College, Professor Christopher Olutayo Alebiosu; Provost, College of Humanities and Culture, Professor Folorunso Kizito; Provost, College of Agriculture, Professor Fikayo Babatunde; Provost, College of Health Sciences, Professor Esther Asekun-Olarinmoye; Provost, College of Science, Engineering and Technology, Professor Janet Olaitan; Provost, College of Law, Professor Olaide Gbadamosi; and the acting Provost, College of Education, Dr Anthony Kola-Olusanya. Also on the delegation was Mr Debo Olawuyi of the Information Management and Technology Centre, Osun State University.
The delegation led by the Vice Chancellor discussed extensively with the Director, Research, Training and Capacity Building, of the Medical Research Council Unit, the Gambia, Dr Assan Jaye, on areas of mutually interests. The discussions culminated in an agreement by both parties to evolve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Staff exchange, Student Exchange, Capacity Building, Joint grant project writing, Funded Ph. D programmes, Partner Funding Programmes, Sabbatical Leave Exchange Programme amongst others. The MOU between the two institutions is expected to be concluded before the end of the first quarter of 2017.
Also, the Vice Chancellor University of The Gambia, Professor Faqir Muhammad Anjum Chaudhry and the Minister of Higher Education, Government of The Gambia, Dr. Abubakar Senghor agreed to partner with Osun State University on Staff exchange, Student Exchange, Capacity Building etc. These agreements were reached at a meeting in the Vice-Chancellor’s office at UTG with the delegation from UNIOSUN. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions is also expected to be concluded before the end of first quarter of 2017.
