One major hallmark of his over 31 years post qualification experience in public and private sectors is that he is not only a COREN registered Engineer; he is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FNIMechE). He is also a Fellow of Institution of Industrialists and Corporate Administrators (FIICA) 2007, a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) 1984 and a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), 1982.

Government of Osun State, Samuel Aderemi Adepoju was born on August 12, 1959. He attended Christ African Church Primary School Osogbo between 1966 and December 1971. He also received education at Christ African Modern School, Osogbo between January 1972 and December 1972. For his secondary education, Samuel A. Adepoju attended St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo between January 1973 and June 1977.

Prior to his new appointment, Engr. S.A. Adepoju had served as Deputy Director of Works at University of Lagos, Akoka and the Director of Works and at the Services of The Federal University of Technology, Akure, for ten years effectively between 1st March, 2003 and 28th February, 2013, a feat which earned him the Vice-Chancellor‟s Special Award of Excellence and Productivity in 2010. He has also attended several courses in engineering and maintenance management both in Nigeria and Overseas.
