VC COMMENDS AREGBESOLA FOR ADDRESSING INFRASTRUCTURAL DECAY IN EDUCATION SECTOR

NewsimgThe Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor A. B. Okesina has commended the Governor of the State of Osun, and Visitor to Osun State University, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for addressing the infrastructural decay in the education sector since he came on board.

Okesina canvassed this view at the opening ceremony of a 5-day Google Computer Science for High Sechool (CS4HS) training workshop on Tuesday, 12 November, 2013.  Cross section of participants at the opening ceremony. According to him, the workshop was aimed at
complementing the six-point integral plan action of Mr. Governor who recently introduced the eTablet of Knowledge innovation (Opon Imo) into the educational system of the State.’ 

The capacity building workshop, according to him, ‘will broaden the knowledge of Computer Science Teachers who have been carefully selected from both private and public secondary schools with current trends in technology.’

While declaring the workshop open, the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, ably represented by the Senior Technical Consultant to the Governor on ICT, Mr. Fred Ajisafe, described the workshop as another vital step forward in the concerted efforts his administration was making to lay a solid ICT foundation in the state. He thanked the Management of the University and the Google CS4HS, for organizing the workshop.

The Google Representative in Nigeria, Mr. Bayo Olotu also congratulated Osun State University for being one of the awardees of the grant.
