OGBENI AREGBESOLA APPROVES N152.9m TO SPONSOR 92 UNIOSUN MEDICAL STUDENTS

Deputy-cpThe Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has approved a sum of N152.9 million to sponsor ninety two(92) medical students, from 300 to 500 levels, of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) who got stagnated in their academic activities because there was no Teaching Hospital to cater for their needs. 

The Deputy Governor, Iyaafin Grace Titi Laoye-Tomori who is also the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, disclosed this during the Ministerial Press Briefing of her Ministry which coincided with the second anniversary of the Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola’s led Administration.

Iyaafin Laoye-Tomori said: ‘In the wisdom of Mr. Governor and in order not to abort the visions and dreams of the affected students, the state
government has facilitated the transfer of the affected 92 students to Karazin University in Kharkiv, Ukraine to continue and complete their academic programme. The cost of training and maintaining the students in Ukraine in the first year, excluding other miscellaneous expenses is One hundred and fifty two million, nine hundred and forty five thousand, and four hundred naira (N152,945,400.00).

According to her, the first batch of these students would depart for Ukraine shortly.
