This announcement was made known to the public in a statement issued by the University Public Relations' Officer, Ademola Adesoji, on Sunday, 5th May, 2024.
Adesoji, in the statement disclosed that Mr. Olawumi, an esteemed member of the Association of Clinical Chemists of Nigeria (ACCN) won this travel grant under the auspices of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), which will enable him attend the prestigious WorldLab Dubai 2024 conference, scheduled to hold between Sunday, 26th May, to Thursday, 30th May, 2024.
"Mr. Olawumi's participation at WorldLab Dubai 2024 is an honor bestowed upon him in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of clinical chemistry. He will present an accepted abstract titled: "Determination of biochemically essential sulfhydryl proteins in selenium derivatives of chlorodiphenyl diselinide formation in simple biological model; implications of its glutathione peroxidase mimicry therapeutic potentials.
"This presentation is poised to enrich the scientific discourse at the conference and further elevate the reputation of our University on the global stage," Adesoji added.
Expressing his delight at Mr. Olawumi's remarkable achievement, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor 'Ayo Clement Adebooye, said "We are immensely proud of Mr. Olawumi's accomplishment and the recognition it brings to our institution. His dedication to scholarly excellence exemplifies the ethos of Osun State University. This grant not only underscores Mr. Olawumi's expertise but also highlights the caliber of researchers we have at our University."
