Miss Agumefa was pronounced the first runner-up of the essay competition out of 500 applicants all over the country after several interviews at the ICAN Secretariat, in Lagos.
She was awarded a cash prize of N50,000, a brand new laptop, plaque, letter of commendation with an all expense paid trip to Abuja for the 48th Annual Accountants’ Conferences. In addition, she received ICAN Professional Examination Scholarship valued at N340,000 covering tuition, study text and examination fees.
Miss Agumefa while speaking about the award gave thanks to Almighty God, her parents, lecturers in the Accounting department and the entire University for grooming her to be able to compete with other institutions at the 2021 ICAN Essay Competition.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor Afeez Adefemi Bello while reacting to the outstanding performance, stated that Miss Agumefa’s performance can be attributed to the Management’s commitment to academic excellence and scholarship.
He also gave kudos to the Provost of the College of Management and Social Sciences, Professor Oladele Ilesanmi, the Dean of the faculty, Dr. Adebayo Olagunju, the current Acting head of department, Dr. Kolawole Olowookere and other academic and non-academic staff of the department for their commitment to the development of the students in their department.
Professor Afeez Bello, on behalf of the management, staff and students of Osun State University thereby commended Miss Agumefa for emerging as the first runner up in the essay competition and wish her well in her future endeavours.
