Biosketch:
Dr Oloyede Samuel BOLAJI is a Medical Laboratory Scientist by Profession and an Associate Professor of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology. He is the pioneer and currently Head of Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, College of Health Sciences at Osun State University. He was once a short-time visiting scholar awardee at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore City, Maryland, USA, in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, Bloomberg School of Public Health. His research focus is on Medical Microbiology and Parasitology with emphasis on Molecular Parasitology, the core contributions to scientific knowledge and advancement in the areas of Epidemiology, Prevention and Diagnosis of aetiological agents of diseases. His research interest as shown in many of his publications covers the following: Schistosomiasis and Molecular Diagnosis of Schistosoma haematobium; Plasmodium falciparum and Malaria/ Intestinal Helminths co-infection; Trichomonas vaginalis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) involving co infection Trichomonas vaginalis, Hepatitis B Virus and Syphilis; Lymphatic Filariasis, Loiasis and Onchocerciasis; Intestinal Helminthiasis and Intestinal parasites/Enteropathogenic Bacteria; Staphylococcus aureus, Campylobacter, Antibiotic Susceptibility/ Profile.
