Biosketch:
Omowonuola Sonibare is a Consultant Family Physician at Osun State University, Osogbo. She is a Fellow of the Medical College of Family Medicine (FMCFM) of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, a member of the Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria (SOFPON) and a member of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) of the United Kingdom with a Masters in Public Health degree.. Dr. Sonibare is involved in the training of medical students and Family Medicine Residents as well as supervising dissertations for the National and West African Postgraduate Medical Colleges, in Nigeria. She conducts personal and collaborative research works on family-related medical challenges, which have resulted in publications with learned journals and contributions to book chapters, while some have been presented as scientific papers at National and international conferences. Recently, two of Dr. Sonibare’s articles addressing some of the world’s greatest challenges were linked to the United Nations Sustainable Goals by Elsevier. Her areas of interest include family medicine, primary care, women’s health, environmental health and lifestyle medicine.
