Biosketch:

Olukoya Ogen, Fellow of the Historical Society of Nigeria and member of the Nigerian Academy of Letters, obtained his PhD degree in History from the University of Lagos as well as a Certificate in Trade, Growth and Poverty from the World Bank Institute, Washington DC in 2006. He specialises in the socio-cultural and economic history of Nigeria and has won a range of American and European postdoctoral fellowships as well as several international research and travel grants. He is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Department of African Studies and Anthropology, University of Birmingham and also doubles as an Endowed Professor of Education at ICT University, Yaoundé. He has served twice as Host and Research Collaborator under the Carnegie African Diaspora Visiting Fellowship Scheme. In 2012, he was elected as the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Osun State University, a position he held until 2014 when the Federal Government appointed him as the Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. He is currently a member of the TETfund National Research Fund Monitoring and Evaluation Committee as well as the Director of Research and Innovation Management at Osun State University. He is a recipient of the Ali Mazrui Prize for Excellence in Scholarship and the UNIOSUN Gold Award for Research Excellence, to mention but a few. A widely travelled scholar, he has published extensively both at home and abroad.
