Ethics, Gender studies and African Philosophy

Biosketch:

Dr. Akiode is a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, Osun State University, Osogbo. Olajumoke's research focus has been the application of ethics to human interaction in every sphere such as corporate organizations, public institutions or society at large.

Dr Akiode has explored the traditional African norms, beliefs, language and culture to promote the ethics of diligent work as fundamental to human dignity as well as their political ideology in maintaining stability and social cohesion in a society. She has also through hermeneutics highlighted the gendered culture of the African Yoruba pre-colonial society.  She has several publications, which tried to make case for a gendered philosophical discourse as a logical consequence of a traditional Africa. Dr. Akiode was the former Coordinator of the Department of Philosohy, Osun State University, Osogbo.
